The title for Star Wars: Episode VIII is THE LAST JEDI!

Just 3 hours ago, Lucasfilm announced the title of the next chapter in the Skywalker saga: STAR WARS: THE LAST JEDI. For all the fans in the galaxies spread far far away the much-awaited title for Episode VIII is here! It was rumoured before but now it is official. Hoping that the first Jedi Temple on the planet of Ahch-To does not get destroyed. I found it beautiful, though it appeared in just one scene.

This RED logo for the new instalment could mean a million things! RED-emption! The RED lightsaber of Kylo Ren. Darth Maul maybe? Or another Zabrak? Or maybe some dies! Though I am really looking forward to a Knights of Ren vs. Luke Skywalker fight but I don’t want him to die yet.

I won’t lie I did not like Luke Skywalker till The Force Awakens. Yup! The last 2-minute scene made me really like the character. He for sure is the only left Jedi in the galaxy, title suits that. I would be reading the novel The Last Jedi by Michael Reaves and Maya Kaathryn Bohnhoff to see if the movie and the novel are related.

The Last Jedi could also refer to the Knights of Ren who could all be disciples of Luke and then turned towards Supreme Leader Snoke. But I think it is said that Kylo Ren (a.k.a. Ben Solo) killed all the other new Jedis.

I am expecting them to release the trailer in 79 days. Just 79 days left for the Star Wars Celebrations 2017 in Orlando. Extremely high chance we get to see the trailer there or before that.

Who is directing and Dates!

THE LAST JEDI is written and directed by Rian Johnson and produced by Kathleen Kennedy and Ram Bergman and executive produced by J.J. Abrams, Jason McGatlin, and Tom Karnowski.

STAR WARS: THE LAST JEDI is scheduled for release on December 15, 2017. Really can’t wait the next 11 months. I wish I could time travel or something.  I am really excited for Episode VIII!

It would be for the last time we watch Carrie Fisher on-screen. 🙁 May the Force be with Her always!
